For one of our clients we are looking for: Functional Safety Engineer m/f - Sint Michiels (m/f):

Job description:

Technical: Supports the Varies (60%), Second generation overlap (17%), APC 200 replacement on global controller platform (17%)

The engineer is delegated to develop system architecture in relation with the development process and methodology for embedded software for controllers used within mechatronic developments for on off-highway vehicles.

The requirements coming from functional safety standards are taken into account to do this.

The control of the driveline and features on the vehicle is realized with the developed products.

The coordinator for software development or a more experienced system architect will define the tasks to be done in the different projects.

The deliverables and the documentation created by the engineer are discussed with the coordinator for software development.

The progress during the development is regularly reported to and discussed with the coordinator for software development.

Requirements:

Master in Engineering Mechatronics/Informatics/Electronics (Civil Engineer - University)

Work Experience: Equivalency up till 5 years would be an advantage
The job related experience requirements are listed in order of priority.

The engineer
• has knowledge about engineering of functional safety
• knowledge about functional safety standards like IEC 61508, EN 13849, ISO 15998, ISO 25119, IEC 62061,…and other related standards for hardware and software development like CMMI, INCOSE, …
• has knowledge about quality management standards like ISO 9001, TS 16949, APQP, …
• has the high level knowledge of programming in C-language
• has knowledge about SYSML (UML)
• has knowledge about compilers
• has knowledge about operating systems used for embedded systems
• has knowledge about object oriented software development
• has knowledge about FMEA, problem solving tools, …
• the focus will be on application software, has interest in low-level software that is more related to the hardware
• has knowledge about in-vehicle communications networks like CAN, Flexray, TTP, LIN, ..
• has or will develop good project management skills.
• will participate in the continuous improvement of processes and procedures to develop software.
• has knowledge about Model Based Software Development and auto-code generation with Targetlink or Real-time Workshop Embedded Coder
• has knowledge about the Mathworks tools like, Matlab-Simulink, Stateflow, …
• knows about AUTOSar
• has knowledge about controls theory

An advantage is that the engineer
• has experience in the software development for embedded mechatronic systems, more specific for automotive applications (off-highway and/or on-highway),
• has knowledge of the 16-bit of microprocessors, it would be an advantage to have knowledge about 16-bit microprocessors of Infinion C167 en XC 161
• has knowledge of the 32 controllers of Freescale

The engineer can work with MS-office and an e-mail program
